Hello, my name is Marlo. I am the President and co-founder of Proqual Construction. Due to my unique upbringing, I quit school after grade 9 and went to work for my dad as a drywaller/taper. I spent several years in this trade before deciding to move on to automotive painting. I worked in a body shop for several years and during this time I apprenticed under the trade board and was awarded my red seal automotive painting ticket through Nait. Due to severe allergies, I could no longer work in the automotive trade. After this, I spent several years pouring concrete. Most of which were floors and sidewalks with a few grade beams and basements.
I then moved to Leduc. From 2011-2014 I worked for Rydal Construction in Leduc. Their crew was great and I learned many of the renovation and framing skills I have today from them. In late 2014 I went to work for Troy Clark Construction. Troy was good to me and during this time I was able to attend Grant MacEwan University for Business Management Studies. I recently graduated and finally decided it was time to start my own company. Through the last six years I have had the pleasure of developing many relationships with people in Leduc. The people are great, the city is great, and I have decided to call it my permanent home. I am married to an amazing woman, we have a new baby and I would love to be a part of continued growth in this community.
One of the great relationships I've made in Leduc was with a man named Dwight. Dwight and I share a lot of the same values for family and community and we co-founded Proqual Construction with a desire to create a better future for ourselves, our employees, and our community. Below are a few words from Dwight about his experience and his goals for our team. Talk to you soon.
I'm very excited to be joining with Marlo in this new venture and serving our community to the best of our abilities. I grew up in small town Southern Alberta but have loved living in Leduc and area for the last 12 years. I have a number of years in the oilfield and construction industries. I started out landscaping, pouring concrete and framing in high school. I attended 4 years of Post Secondary education before going into the Oil Patch. I continued framing and landscaping whenever I had time off from the patch and am excited to be back in the Construction Industry Full time.
Hello my Name is Rylee Miller. I grew up on a farm just outside of Calmar where I currently farm with my brothers and father. We all run a grain and commercial beef farm which is where I spend most of my spare time. I was an active 4H member for 9 years, showing cattle and competing in public speaking. Now I actively volunteer with many of the other surrounding clubs, including helping judge many public speaking events, and helping with community activities. Currently, I am an Apprentice Carpenter. Most of my experience is in custom finishing carpentry and cabinet making. Marlo and Dwight have taught me tons and continue to teach me about framing, drywalling, mudding, concrete, and other types of general carpentry. I am very passionate about all I do and am excited to be apart of the Proqual team. Looking forward to Growing and honing my skills to provide the best quality product I can.
